Hi Mary -
The authors set their own pricing with one rule.
1.
It can't be less than $1.00.
There needs to be a minimum cost for a purchase to maintain the site and because of credit card processing fees this is the minimum.
We also request that it not be listed for free or considerably lower priced somewhere else as one of our readers might feel cheated to pay for it here when you are offering it somewhere else for free or substantially less.
Now, as far as determining the price to set - we've found that readers generally expect online books to cost less than hard or soft bound books. However, if your eBook isn't really available in that format you may be able to command a higher price.
It's a tough one to decide, and you can revise it later if you change your mind.
Bottom line is that readers tend to purchase lower cost eBooks. They seem more willing to gamble on an eBook at $3.95 than one at $24.95, but there aren't any hard and fast rules.
You can monitor interest in your eBook listing from the Author Login if you become an Author.
Thanks for your interest.
